Puigdemont has said that if he wins the election, set for May 12, he will return to #Catalonia for the investiture despite running the risk of immediate arrest by #Spain. In theory, the new amnesty law in Spain and his position as an MEP should protect him. In practice, however, he remains public enemy number one for the powers behind the powers in Spain, and they will happily flout any legality to get their way.
It's a massive political and personal gamble he's taking.
