Hey there. I am Jijin.

I work in Tech.

I am a hobbyist #photographer who takes mediocre photos.
I love building cool stuff that barely works, #reading, and #football.

I hate AI in art, literature and anything creative. I have a certain dislike towards productivity gurus and people who tell others to monetize their hobbies.

I mostly #shitpost here.

#PSA: posting photos and videos of your kids online ensures they'll never be able to meaningfully opt out of privacy invasion.

80% of children have an online presence by age two, with parents sharing an average of 1,500 images before their fifth birthday. —2017, Northumbria University

By the age of 13, children have had an average of 1,300 photos and videos of themselves posted to social media by their parents. —2018, UK Children's Commissioner

I just googled something and Google put its AI summary top, which incorrectly used a Facebook post - misinterpreting it. The Facebook post itself was an AI summary of a user post - which AI had also misinterpreted. The result is the Google answer was just total bollocks.

10/10 no notes.

Clawmaxxers will mass-email 10,000 strangers using AI to "personalise" a pitch about "authentic connection" and see absolutely no irony in that. None. Zero. The irony detector has been automated and it also doesn't work.
Accurate
@denisseidel No idea why you would think like that when the initial post mentions what I "wanted".

Young me wanted a very smart house. Wanted voice activated everything, robots and AI assistance, and what not. Pretty much wanted a Jarvis like in Iron Man.

Current me wants switches, levers or knobs in everything, no devices that has a mic in it, and keep your AI smart devices 200 meters away from me.

Happy Mothering Sunday!

Instagram: "End-to-end encrypted messaging will no longer be supported after May 8, 2026."

Ah... the end of end-to-end encryption. Great news for anyone who always felt their private messages just weren't being ad-targeted and monetized enough.
