Android users: do you install apps from alternate app stores?
I last had an android as my main driver in 2013 and used to run a jail broken OS, but have no idea how common installing non play store apps is these days
Whatever crosses my mind on tech, internet, federated social, etc.
Infrequent poster; I spend enough of my time on screens as it is, so I prefer to go touch grass and connect with the universe. I build things for other people who feel the same.

When your password leaks:
โ Change your password
โ Problem solved
When your biometric data leaks:
โ You can't change your face
โ You can't change your fingerprints
โ The compromise is permanent
โ Your biometric data is in breach databases forever
This is why facial recognition for age verification is dangerous.
@benpate @scottjenson Hey Ben, yeah, I totally agree- threads still make sense for public posts since there is often so much branching. The private use case really depends, but since itโs often 1-1, it feels less necessary to have the complexity of threads. Definitely debatable tho depending on preferences.
If threading stays in private messages, Iโd love to see the 1 & 2 UX you described. I think of slack as another example of decent threads UX, but donโt like it nearly as much.

Speaking of... Iโm so delighted to see apps like @tg's Currents! The calm, intentional design is so well thought out and executed ๐๐ป
Currents is just for RSS, though. I would *love* to see these design patterns be incorporated into other social feeds.
This is an absolutely fantastic article by @laurenshof
