A walk through Pilpasuo nature reserve. The 200-600mm lens on my a6700 allowed me to get this close to a singing Yellowhammer without disturbing its peace.

At first, I didn't recognize which bird was singing so skillfully. For several days, I tried to get a photo, but in the dense forest, it was impossible to get close; this individual flew away the moment a twig snapped. Finally, I succeeded! He was balancing at the very top of the tall spruces in the old forest.

The first swans have arrived in the north.

Exploring the frozen hepoköngäs waterfall. In winter, it freezes completly, creating ice shell with the water falling inside freely.

It was once known by the rather colorful name ”hevonperse” (horse’s ass).

Great tit followed me along the forest trail on my way to the Hepoköngäs waterfall. It kept staying nearby and watching me from the trees, so I eventually decided to take a few photos of its poses.
