🇬🇧 Last January, I lost my Bechstein piano in the Pacific Palisades fire 😔 Today, a new chapter begins with this Yamaha U3A. Made in Japan, used, already wonderfully mature, I’m excited to discover its voice 🎹🎶
🇫🇷 En janvier dernier, j’ai perdu mon piano Bechstein dans l’incendie de Pacific Palisades 😔 Aujourd’hui, un nouveau chapitre s’ouvre avec ce Yamaha U3A. Fabriqué au Japon, d’occasion, déjà très mûr, j’ai hâte d’en explorer la voix 🎹🎶
🇬🇧 Today I mixed my upcoming album On Auroras and Twilights at Audio Network’s London office with in-house engineer Ren Swan. The project is now entering its final stages, ahead of a late-spring release.
🇫🇷 Aujourd’hui, j’ai finalisé le mixage de mon prochain album On Auroras and Twilights avec Ren Swan, ingénieur chez Audio Network a Londres. Le projet entre désormais dans sa phase finale, pour une sortie prévue au printemps.
When your audio interface's (useless) background software application launches itself automatically to show you an ad, you know you've really entered the worst times of software development. I'm not proud of you Universal Audio—and frankly I'd rather you fix your crappy drivers randomly restarting my MacBook Pro M1's while it's in sleep mode (for the past 4 years) instead of spending ressources developing this kind of crap.
Infuriating.
And so, another year ends. 2025 is now in the mirror—at least here in Paris, on this side of the world.
Professionally, it was another year of ebb and flow. While it started on a low note (pun not intended), with the Palisades fire, which resulted in the loss of my beloved Bechstein piano, I’m happy to report the year had a lot of high notes indeed.
🇬🇧✍️ Artist’s log. Day 58. (X days before the concert.) Score number 10, "To These Evening Glows", is now ready. Slowly but surely getting closer to the end of music prep (well, at least of its first step 😅). 2 more to go 💪

🇬🇧✍️ Artist’s log. Day 57. (X days before the concert.) Just realized that having an upright piano with a built-in MIDI controller will let me play the acoustic piano and trigger electronic patches at the same time 🤯 Game changer 🤭😏
🇫🇷✍️ Journal d’artiste. Jour 57. (X jours avant le concert.) Je viens de réaliser que disposer d’un piano droit avec un contrôleur MIDI intégré me permettra de jouer à la fois le piano acoustique et de déclencher des patches électro en même temps 🤯 Ça change tout 🤭😏
🇬🇧✍️ Artist’s log. Day 56. (X? days before the concert). Just completed the ninth score, "The Spaces Left Behind". Another "free" piece (without track or click). I think these will be the most haunting.

🇬🇧Yamaha U3A incoming early January! 🥳 Christmas came early this year, but Santa’s delivery will be late 🎅😴 Also, Santa was kind enough to specify that this was only a rental for now 🤡😂
🇫🇷 🇫🇷 Yamaha U3A prévu début janvier ! 🥳 Noël est arrivé un peu en avance cette année, mais la livraison du Père Noël sera en retard 🎅😴
Et en plus, le Père Noël a eu la gentillesse de préciser que ce n’est qu’une location pour l’instant 🤡😂
