Just added a new photo gallery to my website: behind-the-scenes shots from the November 2019 sessions for my Chi Chi Em Em score. 👀

Recorded in Budapest with the incredible Budapest Scoring Orchestra — and yes, that harpsichord you hear all over the soundtrack was played live in the room. 🎹 Photos by Kevin Leighton ✨

✍️ Artist’s log. Day 23. (X? days before the concert)

Great day today going over concert logistics with Celine Magnano (new to the team!) and barely scratching the surface of everything that needs to happen to make the Spring 2026 concert date. Tons of work ahead, but so exciting! 🤩

Also, I finished another full score tonight... 4 out of 12! Forging ahead, one score at a time... 🫡

Third score, “What the Absences Leave” is finished! Starting to get the hang of keyboard patches and controller assignments. And the overall score template has been working great on this one, so I feel good about subsequent pieces! ☺️

Should be fairly smooth sailing from there... just nine more to go 😅

The story behind this concert? Part 1 is here: https://tinyurl.com/3epfn767

For years in Boston then Los Angeles, I hid behind imitation—trying to sound like my heroes instead of listening to my inner voice.

Part 3 of 'Finding the Echoes' is about what lead to the moment someone finally asked me, “What do you want to write?”—a question I hadn't dared ask myself in 20 years—and the truth it forced me to face.

When I left Paris to study film scoring at Berklee, I thought I was chasing a dream — but I was really running from silence, from shame, from unspoken trauma.

Part 2 of Finding the Echoes is out now.

A new photo gallery is now available on my website, with pictures from the November 2019 Japanese instrument session for my album "Shifting Perspectives." It took place at the Bunker Studio in Brooklyn.

Contracted by Tomoko Akaboshi, it featured performances by Zac Zinger on Shakuhachi, Kaoru Watanabe on Shinobue, and Sumie Kaneko and Yumi Kurosawa on Kotos.

Artist’s log. Day 4 (X? days before the concert). ✍️

The score for “Unbeaten Paths” is done. This piece was first written for my upcoming Audio Network album, so working on the live score forces me to think about the performance itself. 🔍

Closing my eyes, I put myself in the audience's perspective. What do I want them to feel? That leads me to decide what to extend (if any); what to have the group play live or not; and what to leave out. A stimulating process! 🥰

(The piece is 45s longer now!)
