Gastarbeiter and kernel conceptualist at Kernkonzept and night-shift developer of #HelenOS. Also hoarding 8-bit home computers.
The TV which was broken and then glued and stitched together again has moved into a new body. Internals mostly remain the original Sony KV-1400UB. The anthracite case is from a donor KV-1400E TV. There are some telltale signs of this.

Ever wonder why the "vi" editor uses H, J, K, and L keys for cursor navigation, and why Unix shells traditionally use "~" as an alias for the home directory?

The ADM-3A terminal was a very popular and inexpensive Unix terminal in the 1970s. Notice where the arrow keys are, and where the "~" key is? It influenced a lot!

My de-rusted #FM7 is not yet trusted. It intermittently does not boot to BASIC, but into a blinking cursor in top left corner. I guess it is trying to boot from a disk somehow even though there is no disk controller installed. Could it be a bad DIP switch?
Some #FM7 progress. The keyboard is nicely restored and the main board is clean as new, drying out after today's bath in window cleaner and distilled water. #FromRustedToTrusted
Working on my rusted #FM7. I was getting ready to desolder the switches so that the rusted keyboard plate could be fixed but it turned out that the PCB with the switches can be unscrewed and the key/switch tops can be pushed through using a flat screw driver and a finger.
Actual screenshots from the wonderful #MSX game Aleste 2 which I coincidentally completed on 1 credit today.
My current MSX setup assisted by some other 8-bit equipment: Philips NMS 8245 with a Philips VS0080 monitor. #MaySiXth #MSX #MSX2
Today I made quite a long journey by public transport from Berlin to Teltow in Brandenburg to visit https://www.flipperhalle.de/. And it was definitely worth it.

Yesterday I re-visited @computerspielemuseum in Berlin after 5 years. My time budget was limited, so I went directly to the highlights: the arcade(s) and the attics (unfortunately I have no pictures of them). As usual I practiced Asteroids, but didn't beat my top score from Krakow.

With 29 hours to go, Kickstarter has decided that we are a 'Project We Love'. We ask you to support us. With unique rewards such as lifetime access to the world's largest interactive computer museum or an exclusive tour by our CEO.

The tour can be conducted both on-site and at home via webcam, in English or Dutch.

Help us reach the goal, help us become the museum the IT world needs. Help us preserve and make this beautiful history available for the future.
