I do all my own stunts. (he/him)
@jonhicks @obrhoff Are you imagining the Pencil working on the trackpad (no direct manipulation), on the screen upright (weird ergonomics), or on the screen converted to tablet mode (haven’t seen this rumored and not sure why Apple would rather build it than let iPads run macOS)? Or is there another solution I’m missing?
@daringfireball I’ve always wondered why Force Touch and the Haptic Engine never made the leap from the iPhone to the iPad, and whether that had something to do with those two technologies never making it over to the Touch Bar either.

@jsnell I've noticed Spotlight getting slower on my Mac as well, and on my iPhone it's nearly unusable, even for the built-in calculator (which doesn't even require a search).

You would think Apple would have super rigorous testing and analytics around Spotlight to ensure that performance doesn't degrade over time or across updates, but I guess not.

If Ternus can bring Apple's software, services, and developer relations up to the level that Apple's hardware has reached under his watch, the company will be in very good hands. But that’s a big if.

I'm giving myself full marks on this prediction based on the “Tim Cook will continue engaging with policymakers” note in the press release. If I was off by a few months, it probably has something to do with how horrendously Republicans are polling right now.

@marioguzman I feel like this happens on both platforms consistently after changes between light and dark mode. (Which is inexcusably bad. Just not something that I think is exclusive to Spotlight.)
@daringfireball What do we have to do to make this happen for Escape Velocity: Nova?
@stroughtonsmith I can’t believe we’re really going to go a full year with the light mode/dark mode transition being broken, after it worked perfectly fine from iOS 13–18.
