I've been going on public middle school tours and I cannot overstate how bleak the situation is with screens in schools. 10yo had covid zoom school kindergarten, and now is heading into all-day screen middle school and beyond. $25k minimum to buy out of it via private school (which we can't / won't do for a variety of reasons). What's happening is way, way worse than I'd imagined.
