I can use SearxNG from LibreDirect addon. I used the fastest one. To see which instances are not using Google, I have to try one by one
That's what I meant with searches on the web, whatever you choose there's an oligarchy of search engines
You have Google, DuckDuckGo and Bing, which I tried and have crappy results, and the fourth option is Brave which was the better one
I used StartPage for a while, but it is too slow because of the proxy (it takes twice long each search)
2:08 #Trump is trying to buy time to think of a reason why not to debate #KamalaHarris, and couldn't think of any
It is true, Trump is weird, like The Penguin from Batman

I just tried SearxNG again and now I remember why I'm not using it
All results are from google, which completely misses the point. I stop using G because of the crappy results. I get better results with Brave if I'm gonna use an 'evil' company
Besides, I want to advocate for Open Source, not to boycott a project. I don't have problems using projects with commercial goals, as long I'm able to follow mine
My experiences with Joplin were not good
Trying another browser is a big change

I got tangled up Browser and Search
I don't use B. Browser, I use B. Search on Firefox (and I have some concerns about FF)
I've been using it for a year and never saw anything about crypto in none of my searches
I can't do a profile check up on each sw developer I depend on
Any article which depicts someone as a 'bigot' at the very begging is too biased for my taste. I prefer see an interview of the guy and draw my own conclusions
Rest is a balance b/w principles and usability
@clacke
I didn't know Misskey, I'm new to fediverse
When it comes to social media, it's all reduced to adoption
I think it would be better for fediverse if the majority of users use the same platform
Once we reach critical mass, then begin adopting other platforms. If all use different platforms the efforts are too disperse

I don't know why you link Brave Browser to crypto, I'm not that into it
I use it because my main use is documentation, and it has a useful IA search which saves me a lot of time
I didn't take time to try SearxNG, it's like Indivious for search engines right?
For Hacker News, someone recommended me here HNRSS, which has a lot of filters. I use it to filter posts with more than 300 points
I used Lobste.rs for a while, it's a link aggregator right?
Kicillof on the LNG plant: "They made a decision dictated by Milei"
The governor questioned that the LNG plant will be located in Río Negro and not in Buenos Aires. "This has nothing to do with Buenos Aires' adherence to the RIGI," he said.
President Javier Milei wants to punish Buenos Aires because there is a 'soviet' on power.

@educoder
I had a very long day yesterday, so I didn't stay very late
You'll see everything is better with shortcodes, and if you're fluent with HTML and CSS, I'm sure you're gonna write your own
The rest it's just taking a theme that works and fiddle with it, read the docs and ask the forum, whatever works for you

Maybe I used the wrong word
I'm not looking for established categories for 'news' (politics, culture, etc.), it's relatively easy to find them with a search engine (I use Brave Search)
I'm struggling to find different sources of Tech and Open Source news. You said earlier:
> *all* news sources are biased one way or another
To solve that I use to look for 'rival views' (I can't find a word). For example, Fox News vs. The Guardian
I can read both and draw my own conclusions
