The Profiling Tools team at Apple is looking for interns! We work on the Instruments app, delivering performance insights to developers inside and outside Apple. I’ve really enjoyed this team because we get to work with a lot different people to develop useful tools, and build a lot of personal knowledge along the way.

Just released an update to my fork of @nate’s #aamoji app! It’s an easy way to type #emoji on Apple platforms — just type “aa” plus the name of an emoji (e.g. aasparkles → ✨). Works in most apps & syncs via iCloud to your iPhone/iPad/other Macs so you don’t need to run anything in the background! This update includes the latest emoji released in 2023, and a way to download the latest emoji on demand as future emoji updates come out. I just noticed that in the #iOS17 Photos app, zooming into a photo makes a “Crop” button pop up in the top right corner. Tapping it jumps you into edit mode and switches to the crop mode. The whole interaction feels just right — props to whoever made it!
