How do you people in #academia find a way to not get jaded? I've been teaching for three years and while I love the actual teaching, research, and graduate school aspects—I'm so overwhelmed by the politics.
Not to mention the lack of moral compasses in some people just to preserve the system.
The rise of AI language learning models really hurt the SEO and copywriting gig economies. Back in 2018 to 2021, I could make a pretty respectable amount of money doing freelance writing gigs. Now, it's like that entire industry disappeared...
So much has been done to erase the toll of #COVID that it's noteworthy this was published.
It's not just the aftermath of COVID, but a reminder that you should be doing your utmost to make sure academia is anti-ableist and accessible, even if you don't think you'll ever become disabled. Disability is one of the marginalized groups you can easily transition into.
