we went to a short beach called โ€œshort beachโ€, and i donโ€™t know if iโ€™ve ever been on beach thatโ€™s all rocks instead of sand

the sound the rocks made as the water retreats and the stones shift and collide sounded like soft crackling thunder to me. i was grateful to discover a new sound

Then I came to Japan, and many beaches are made of tangerine-sized stones.

In Itoigawa, near Niigata City, the river washes down jade, and people pick through literal miles of stones looking one tiny shiny green lump. ๐Ÿซ’

It is part of a UNESCO geo park!

A map that shows me what I want, not what it is paid to push - especially when it uses valuable screen real estate on functions they wonโ€™t let you turn off (all the social/local discovery bullshit tabs in Google maps.

I use almost all functions of the maps - driving, train, cycling, walking, touring, POI search, route planning etc. I am an apple one subscriber.

How many products/apps must we sacrifice on the alter of services/ad revenue?
