In Lowell, Mass., residents dealt with years of noise and diesel fumes from the Markley data center before the City Council passed a unanimous moratorium last month. In Everett, a petition calling for a preemptive ban has gathered over 650 signatures in just two weeks.

Real estate and trusts should not be investment mechanisms for wealthy individuals and families to cement permanent affluence. The consequence on working people is the death of the American dream to own a home, the complete distortion of real and stock markets based on wealth concentration, and increased taxes to make up for the wealthy dodging their own.
A fair tax system requires billionaires and corporations to pay their fair share while workers keep more of what they earn. We support a wealth tax on the ultra-rich, higher marginal rates on top incomes, and a corporate automation tax so companies that replace workers with AI and robots fund the social safety net.
KOSA creates a "duty of care" requiring social media platforms to prevent "harmful" content. It would empower FTC Chair Andrew Ferguson, who considers transgender healthcare and LGBTQ content to be threats to children, to decide what counts as "harmful."
@fightThe Parents over Platforms Act requires app stores to collect age info on every user. You can't verify some users are under 18 without tracking everyone's identity. These aren't child safety bills - they're surveillance infrastructure bills.
@eff @fightTalarico ran explicitly against the Silicon Valley billionaires funding Majority Democrats and AIPAC, which has funneled $1m to the corporate Dem group's chair.
Rep. Auchincloss's Parents Over Platforms Act requires app stores to collect age information on every user and share it with developers. Privacy advocates have pointed out that you can't verify some users are under 18 without tracking everyone's identity. These aren't child safety bills. They're surveillance infrastructure bills.
@fight @effOur public education systems remain highly segregated and unequal. We must first end the reliance on local property taxes for school funding, which perpetuates segregation by tying school quality to neighborhood wealth. Second, fully fund Title I and IDEA to ensure schools serving low-income students and students with disabilities have the resources they need. Third, make public college tuition-free and expand Pell Grants so higher education isn't reserved for those who can afford it.
The federal government must stop treating housing as a commodity for Wall Street profits. I support increasing affordable housing, an algorithmic rent ban, and investing in public and social housing. The federal government should also condition housing funds on localities eliminating exclusionary zoning that perpetuates segregation.
I've signed the Purge Palantir pledge to reject all contributions from Palantir Technologies and its executives. Palantir builds the AI-powered surveillance tools ICE uses to target immigrants, and their software is now being integrated into DOGE to merge federal databases on American citizens. We can't fight the surveillance state while taking money from the companies building it.
