If you look at Slavic languages by their spelling and alphabet (orthographic) differences, each seems like a unique language.
However, if you would transcribe all of them into the international phonetic alphabet (IPA), they would seem much more like dialects.
Every year of my life, I have heard people say, “This year the weather is the craziest I’ve ever seen it.”
I would enjoy reading any research on this ‘phenomenon’, as I am inclined to chalk it up to some sort of cultural loss of weather-related memories older than a few seasons.
