No matter which social network you're on, following a diverse group of people helps you taking a peek at the other side of your personal filter bubble.

You don't have to agree with everything and everyone, but please, at least try to listen to people and their opinions.

It will help you appreciate your own life, and may just make you a little wiser.

thanks everyone for replying, I really appreciate the help

legend it is :)

hello fellow Masto users I need your help with something

you know in a video game that has a bunch of icons? and you can toggle the guide or list of the icons on/off? does anyone know what that's called?

i've forgotten the name of it and google is being zero help. answers and boosts are MASSIVELY appreciated

also peeps, please recommend positive Masto accounts (bots or real people, anything!) that cheer you up

i want to put them into one big toot and pin it

that is to say, people on the internet have a startling lack of compassion. partly because of the disconnect, partly because they're asshole in digital or meatspace.

now is as good a time as any to remind yourself that a) not everyone is an asshat b) it's perfectly okay to disconnect if you need to. taking care of yourself > staying up to date on the news.

not getting pissed off by games industry discourse is a whole lot easier once you stop reading comments sections and replies, who would have thought?
fuck Twitter part #3978: it permanently suspended a journalist for fighting back against TERFs https://jezebel.com/teen-vogue-contributor-permanently-suspended-from-twitt-1827393516
Teen Vogue Contributor Permanently Suspended From Twitter Over Tweet Directed at TERFs [Updated]

Danielle Corcione—a freelance journalist who writes for Teen Vogue, ReWire, and other outlets—had their Twitter account permanently suspended on Thursday after the writer posted a tweet about TERFs. (Corcione uses they/them pronouns.) Emails, which Corcione provided to Jezebel, show that Twitter suspended Corcione for “violating rules against posting violent threats.”
