@bufferapp Really with this didn't come up every time I sign in when using a VPN, even after I have already cleared the Cloudflare captcha to prove that I'm a corporeal meatman.

I paid a few hundred bucks for the cover art of this article: How platforms prey on our longing to be known.

The article has no ads, makes no money, and probably didn't need any cover art like this.

But the piece would simply not have been complete without it.

It gives me joy to look at it.

Someone got paid decently and I probably wasn't a terrible client either maybe.

None of these things would have been true if it were generative.

This aged like a fine chicken drumstick in a glass of milk.

Google suspended my account for writing about how platforms like them should not be trusted with our personal data. It's one of the best things I've written. Want to read the piece they tried to kill?

They're not even the subject. It's about a small social network named Polywork that had a few minutes of fame early in the pandemic.

I wrote something new. With Global Accessibility Awareness Day coming up, I looked back at GAAD 2023. Social media was flooded with business who use overlays posting hashtag spam to promote them.

Some of those businesses don't actually exist.

Socks, lies, and accessibility

Global Accessibility Awareness Day (GAAD) is around the corner. Looking back at last year, I found some troubling things people in this field should be aware of. Because they're likely to be repeated.

Me, an accessibility designer losing his chill: If you do that, no one using assistive tech will be able to use this

Dev: Okay but is it really a problem if it isn't accessible?

Me: We need to make sure that everyone can access this

Dev: What do you mean everyone??

Me:
