Fine advice for everyone who gets too excited about politics, from the theme song to a crappy movie:

"Wish I had the wisdom to find some simple words to make you see, the things that mean a lot to you don't always seem to mean a lot to me."

Good computer game I've been enjoying:

Objects in Space.

It's a bit buggy, and it could use some expansion and so on, but it's still a good game.

Found an old link.

https://www.politico.com/story/2013/01/bill-clinton-to-democrats-dont-trivialize-gun-culture-086443

Bill's observation is as true now as it was then.

Every time you find someone frothing about how racist, crazy, fascist and nazi all the MAGA-hat wearing loons are? Ask them whether they want four more years.

Because sneering, name-calling and despising are how you might get four more years.

Clinton: Don't trivialize gun culture

“Do not patronize the passionate supporters of your opponents by looking down your nose,” he says.

Something that I discovered while working on a commission: muse actually has pretty tight USB MIDI timing. It's not the prettiest FOSS DAW, but it definitely makes a good sequencer for driving external hardware.

If you find someone in the USA today, talking about how martial law was just instituted, or how they feel that their government is waging war on them, then you have just learned something important:

The person talking about these things has never lived under these conditions, has no clue what they are talking about, and can probably be safely ignored.

If they're also talking about fascism, you can be pretty sure they've not only never lived under it, but don't know what it even is.

Made my decision, and now putting music on https://pt.neko.bar/

Minibrute 2s revisit:

OK, after some work I started to figure out what this synth needs, not to sound boring.

You need to cross-modulate stuff to make it sound useful. And make no mistake, you can get useful sounds out of it, but start with brute factor up a bit, and use either FM or OSC2 as a detuned sub, or ... something.

Also, this synth needs its patchbay like a swimmer needs air.

I'll keep it, but damn, it really needs love, because just its plain oscillators sound blah.

So, should I spend another six months trying to get the minibrute 2s to sound glorious, or should I trade it in?

Like, for an electribe 2. Or maybe a Gaia.

Behringer Pro-One.

In mere minutes, I get sounds from it that excite my ears beyond anything I've achieved with the Minibrute 2S in months.

Why? Is it the filters? The cross-routing? The oscillators?

I don't quite know (yet). But one sounds weak, the other sounds mighty.

Anyone have a favourite LOGO interpreter for Linux environments?
