In the late noughts, it left me with a profound sense of skepticism about the entire edifice of strong AI. With fresh eyes, I come to realize that modern ML is effectively the ultimate assertion of the implicit logical grammar of language use.
Unexpectedly ran into the far belated translation of LW’s private diaries. It prompts me to look back at the question of critiquing the foundations of AI from a later Wittgensteinian sense— a passion project of mine that resulted in an unreadable undergraduate dissertation.
It’s amazing to see someone in EU circles finally frame the previous handling of spyware vendors as a charade! The indignation started ringing hollow years ago (h/t @sophieintveld)
For those of us neophytes in the periphery of CompSci, what resources / books would you recommend for a functional understanding of distributed systems like this?
