Our Abate Fetel Pear Tree with blossoms in our backyard on April 10, and an Argentinian Abate Fetel Pear that we bought at New Seasons Market on April 13. Our favorite pear. @czds and I can only hope that B.P. Moretini pollinates Abate Fetel and we get such good looking pears this coming autumn

Yet another plus for #BEV. @czds and I are using our Hyundai Ioniq 5 in Utility Mode to run a 12V refrigerated container that we keep in our car, as our LG fridge in the house died after only five years, 2026 April 09

In relation to my quoted thread, here’s some pictures of what @czds and I had for our Easter meal: Mazzarelle and asparagus frittata with Pastiera di Riso for dessert. Our pastiera is very brown because we use coconut sugar rather than refined white sugar.

Visiting Seattle, WA is always fun for @czds and me. This time meeting relatives who were here for a conference. Peak Cherry Blossoms happened right on time. Lots of good Filipino food at Kilig, Ludi’s and Musang. And seeing the Fremont Troll for the first time was special.

A chilly, slightly rainy #PNW day; to warm up @czds and myself, we made a whole grain spelt crust pizza topped with marinara, mushrooms, firm and fresh mozzarella, and a 13-bean zuppa minestre, both topped with freshly grated Vacche Rosa parmigiano reggiano and Fulvi pecorino romano
