Here you go @atpfm.
My awesome in-laws bought me the Return of Columbo on Blu-Ray for Christmas. The original series Blu-Rays are good, but these unfortunately crop from 4:3 to 16:9. My best guess that KL Studio classics’ hands were tied on the later series since they did both. Still though, I truly don't get why anything is cropped these days given how large TVs are and how accustomed audiences are with black bars in letterbox, let alone to classic TV. Just look that they've done to my boy.

Marco talking on @atpfm about those in charge at Apple seeing computers as the problem rather than the solution reminded me of this post I wrote 3 years ago about how iPadOS suffered because Apple seemingly refused to add features deemed too computer-y. Re-reading it in conjunction with Dye’s exit this week makes me wonder if Federighi’s snark when introducing a menu bar, windows, and a more pointer shaped pointer in iPadOS portended a change in attitude.

I hope so.

I thought I would memorialize Gurman's toot.
@caseyliss What my wife and were enjoying while you were wasting time “making your living" by recording “conversations you quite enjoy" with “your friends”.

In olden days computers had just two emotions. They either happily worked as expected or were too sad to boot. Computers today have a range of emotions, but tragically have no way to express them. That’s why our scientists developed MacMoji using the latest in sticker technology, so your favorite computers can finally convey exactly how they feel.

Bummed that Apple doesn’t have distance specific achievements for swimming like they do for running. I am happy it recognized my longest swim, but it would be nice to get a “1 mile swim” achievement every time I hit that milestone like I do whenever I complete a 5k run.
