Being on Mastodon and around other technology groups, it's hard to remember that a lot of people in the world don't really know/care about their digital devices.

We're worried about patching, security, 0days, ../, and there are people out there who are still not exactly sure the difference between their "os" and their "computer".

The new laws and restrictions are going to be confusing as hell for these people. They are pretty confusing for OUR people and we supposedly understand half this stuff.

If you were alive in the 80's/90's you might remember G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero. It was a Sunday morning cartoon designed to sell toys.

At the end of the program, you would get a lesson. Something like "Stealing is wrong" or "Don't be a dick" or "Just because Suzie is a girl, doesn't mean she's bad at sports". At the end of the program they would say, "And now you know. And knowing is half the battle!"

We need more G.I. Joe commercials.
