Plus it's hilarious seeing the other person figure out what's going on. First they are confused. Where's their song? Then they realize someone must have skipped and they're looking around trying to see who did it. Then the real realization sinks in. 6 minutes in and In-A-Gadda-Da-Vida is still going and they are so freaking mad. #SongSniping
One of my all time favorite games when I'm at the bar is song sniping. I wait for someone to load up the touch tunes with a bunch of songs, then before their first song ends, I play the longest song I can think of, and I spend extra to skip the line. The Twitter home feed's been down for most of this morning. Even though nothing loads, the Twitter website never stops trying and trying.
In the first video, notice the error message that I'm being rate limited. Then notice the jiggling scrollbar on the right.
The second video shows why it's jiggling. Twitter is firing off about 10 requests a second to itself to try and fetch content that never arrives because Elon's latest genius innovation is to block people from being able to read Twitter without logging in.
This likely created some hellish conditions that the engineers never envisioned and so we get this comedy of errors resulting in the most epic of self-owns, the self-DDOS.
Unbelievable. It's amateur hour.

I have to admit I am a little bit excited by this. Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1 is now confirmed to be coming to Steam. So we could be playing classic Metal Gear on Linux desktop and Steam Deck with Proton very soon.
