Yesterday I went to an activity at the local library where they showed us real music and AI slop, and asked us to guess which is which, both for covers of well-known songs and for original compositions. As expected, most people couldn't guess.

The depressing thing is that then people concluded that the slop is "just another tool" and "who cares as long as we enjoy it". I had invited my neighbor, who is a musician, to come to this event, and now I'm glad she didn't show up.
