Prediction: most messenger projects will move to a single core implementation model, probably #Rust based, in the next few years. The gains both for the development process are just too big. It's all about UI and UX agility, implementation quality and delivery to users.
Funding and money? We had/have to make do with ~1/50th of what other cross platform messenger app efforts had available. It forced and forces us to economic choices which is not a bad thing in an overall bloated IT industry.
The ORConf conference is a weekend of presentations and networking dedicated to free and open source silicon. It's an event for the open source semiconductor community, and is run by volunteers from the FOSSi Foundation. ORConf 2025 is from Friday to Sunday September 12-14, 2025 in Valencia, Spain.

With Delta Chat Version 2, chats are end-to-end encrypted, always and by default. Previously it was possible that chats without green checkmarks could contain messages without end-to-end encryption...

Under the DMA, the FSFE with a coalition of civil-society organisations prompts the @EUCommission to open proceedings to investigate Alphabet's (#Google) regarding the uninstallation of pre-installed apps in Android.
Uninstalling is completely removing the app, not just disabling it! This is key for #DeviceNeutrality!
