I love talks that approach the GPT-hype from a place of "sure there technically are some good uses but please stop throwing it at every problem ever" 😅

Did you know you can use #elasticsearch as a classifier without "fancy" ML stuff?
All you need is an index with texts & categories.
With the "More like this" query, you immediately get back the closest related documents.
8/10 documents returned were the correct category!

Just re-built this (https://www.elastic.co/blog/text-classification-made-easy-with-elasticsearch) demo on the 20newsgroup data with the #Python client: https://github.com/iuliaferoli/elasticsearch-python/blob/main/classifier.ipynb

No imports, no training a model, it just works. Super cool!
