RE: Jon Kaji’s Op Ed

Ted’s heroism deserves respect. Japanese American history deserves care.

What doesn’t deserve a pass is Jon Kaji turning that legacy into an orchestrated controversy. This was introduced in a way that anyone familiar with city process knew would stall, then the predictable result was used to publicly attack fellow councilmembers.

That is not honoring history. It is a deliberate campaign tactic.

Remembrance should unite a community, not be used as a campaign tactic.

Jon Kaji claims he’s independent.

The record tells a different story: $35,000 donated to Trump Victory. His closest allies on council are both known MAGA members.

Torrance deserves leaders who aren’t tied to MAGA politics.

Vote NO on MAGA — June 2, 2026.

George Chen, the mayor of Torrance is MAGA extremist. In a 2022 interview he praised Trump and said Trump was the kind of leader the country and the world needs.

That is disqualifying and divisive ideology like this has no place in leading our city.

This June, VOTE NO ON THE MAGA MAYOR!

Lots of local protests this weekend. Here are two close to home:
