It's funny to hear managers saying that coders need to embrace AI to survive, because in my experience every actually useful new technology has gotten into the organization either by coders smuggling it in under managers' noses, or forcing it in over managers' loud and direct opposition
@NosirrahSec @Jeanniewarner @rrb @pluralistic I believe most managers know that. Which is why they want to replace us with AI: in their minds we are workers who jump way above our station.
@Jeanniewarner @rrb @pluralistic hm.... as an engineer, I'm not afraid to admit that 3-4 hours a day is about as much as I ever could do any useful work (sustainably over time, not including occasional spurts). And I think it's entirely normal for the kind of job that doesn't require keeping watch or anything like that.

@CatherineBabault thanks! This is also something I've been trying to do, but too often I just a mess anyway :-) I'll keep practicing.
@kevinbowen not judging anyone! May be I'm wrong :-)
@kevinbowen I deliberately omitted it, the pun feels a bit stale by now :-)

Lichen. Did you know lichen aren't actually plants? They are colonies of algae and bacteria living symbiotically in a fungus.

Hey #running people! I want to share with you my yesterday's find: https://www.plotaroute.com/. The best route finding/plotting service I've seen. Very useful when you want to stick to your running schedule while out in the wilds on a vacation or a business trip.

It even has a working navigation mode! In a browser!

@midgephoto advice is always welcome, thank you! Tele/macro shots are their own genre though. But I get the point, that simply "screenshotting" what you see is not interesting. I tried a couple of things: a shot under a tree root and a shot through the mossy branches straight up. But again — meh…
