Forming cone. I think this is what a coniferous cone looks like when it's not yet fully formed.
I mentioned a few times that I hate shooting flowers. They're beautiful by default, don't require much skill and don't tell any story.
So why am I posting this one?
See, I spotted it on a recent hike, and it's the first time I've seen a purple one, not the regular white. I didn't have a camera with me at that time, and had decided to let it go. But then I felt I really wanted to shoot that particular flower.

Ha! Despite my fears, my teenager didn't balk at green colored pasta. She even declared it to be "better". Not because of any difference in flavor (there isn't), but simply because it's green :-)
