Giving Viola the NAME Bayonetta doesn’t even make any sense. Cereza is called that because she uses her GUNS to MELEE people!!! That’s the… the fucking… god this game is actively killing my brain just thinking about it, idk if I’ve been this annoyed about a video game since Bioshock Infinite

ALSO: man, how do you manage to make a Bayonetta game this straight, sexless and devoid of angel murder? Why does Luka have “repressed fairy genetics” in this one? Why does Rodan only have a teeny tiny bit part? Nothing in this game makes any SENSE

This game had moments. It’s got some great weapons. The demon integration is real neat, the regular fights are fun, and I genuinely liked learning how to play as Viola.

But

holy fucking *hell*, modern PlatinumGames does *not* understand why the first two Bayonettas were cool. it’s like they sucked all the high camp out of the game and replaced it with dreary Marvel movie bullshit
