(On the plus side, I think the article’s author here does an eloquent and fair job of putting across their argument)
As for the idea that Putin has to have something to show for his shitty war, don’t get me started.
I genuinely don’t get this trend of total capitulation.
If you’re going to argue for negotiation - not an inherent bad - why not start with “Russia goes home & pays for reconstruction”? Yeah, it’s a tough negotiation, but war is tough - and mass civilian death is far worse.

“Negotiate with Putin” never seems to include the idea that Ukraine and the West absolutely could negotiate for the return of Ukrainian territory, not just a ceasefire at current positions.
