Rootstock Northwest’s first newsletter is out!! Thanks to everyone on Mastodon that donated, it really means the world to me and @dan. And yes, we’ve started a nonprofit to give kale to the needy, which is the most Seattle thing that I’ve ever done.
@dan left some dashi in the fridge from dinner, so I turned it into this delicious chawanmushi in the morning. It’s so easy to make and healthy!

Just found the reading materials from my first systems class. 😍 Pretty great list. I loved the class and many people are surprised that it didn’t involve any coding whatsoever.

(Sorry for the lack of alt text, it’s too long for Mastodon’s limits. The photos are of a bound book with the reading list replicated here: https://web.mit.edu/6.033/2007/wwwdocs/reference.html)

Woohoo my new skate .. wheels? .. arrived! These are actually the skate boots that I broke my leg in but have a bit of a higher heel than I like on ice. I’m super excited to skate outside and if I like them, I might swap the boots for my favorite Riedells. Now I can try to learn all my figure skating moves on wheels!

After many years, I can finally feel like a real Asian.
Get friends that find and gift you vintage DEC gear. 😍 @elba
100% what the UW debacle felt like. CSE admin thinks I’m organizing some kind of conspiracy and it’s literally just them having no idea what 8 women with PhD level project management skills are capable of.
Sometimes (always) the best toy is the one from someone else’s cat. #cats #catsofmastodon
Happy 17th birthday to the very best cat in the entire world! We adopted him a little over 10 years ago and he was my first cat. He was reported to be anxious with IBS but once in our house, he turned out to be the friendliest, most sociable cat ever. He’s also introduced so many people to the joys of #cats and caused them to get cats of their own. #catsofmastodon
