We will no longer be using our twitter account due to reports that Elon Musk lied about his relationship with Ghislaine Maxwell and they were more deeply intertwined than his initial claim of not knowing her.

So Pavel Durov of Telegram had the whole world calling him a champion/martyr of free speech and privacy - whatever he was on before, he could have taken the mantle but instead he chose to acquiesce and change the privacy policy.

If someone getting arrested is affecting your life, then you're doing it wrong. Self host everything - XMPP, Mastodon, you name it. It's easy to host.

If you're not self hosting, you're just putting your private info in a public library.
