I used to focus on proteomics in a biomedical research lab. Now my interest is #photography, an endeavor that I put aside since my early years when I used my Dad's Exacta VX that he bought in the 1950's.
I like surf fishing and kite flying on the Outer Banks, cycling, cappuccino, nature photography, biology and looking up at the night sky.

Friday evening the moon was ~78% illuminated. There was plenty of daylight left and no clouds! These are about the only conditions when I can get a good image of the moon.
Converted to monochrome, then cropped it because even at 600mm the moon is not so big in the photo as my eyes would lead me to believe it would be when looking at it directly.
