Two-player #BBCMicro #Elite is coming along nicely.

It now supports two pilots in two ships with two controllers and a split-view screen

Here are some work-in-progress videos - see the thread for an explanation

There’s lots to fix, but at least we have a proof-of-concept…

When it's not being a television with an unusually awkward user interface, the Samsung Frame is sold as a display with a low-power mode that's optimised for art. Imagine buying one and discovering they want to sell you a subscription for freely available art! 😑

Get free art for free, and resize it for your own TV πŸ‘‰ https://github.com/instantiator/frame-55-art/

Devs in tiny teams! πŸ‘‹

How do you manage peer review? What's important, and what cool solutions have your team come up with to get around the drawbacks when there are so few of you? How about when there's a tight deadline?

omfg the font used in this famous anti-piracy campaign used a pirated commercial font.

Rib :ms_red_panda: (@Rib)

Today Melissa Lewis over on BlueSky pointed out that the font used in the infamous "You wouldn't steal a car" anti-piracy campaign was actually designed by Just van Rossum, whose brother, Guido, created the Python programming language (https://bsky.app/profile/melissa.news/post/3ln7hx5rhcj2v) She also pointed out that the font had been cloned and released illegally for free under the name "XBAND Rough". Naturally, it would be hilarious if the anti-piracy campaign actually turned out to have used this pirated font, so I went sleuthing and quickly found a PDF from the campaign site with the font embedded (https://web.archive.org/web/20051223202935/http://www.piracyisacrime.com:80/press/pdfs/150605_8PP_brochure.pdf). So I chucked it into FontForge and yep, turns out the campaign used a pirated font the entire time! πŸ“Ž
