Why not a bit of #throwbackthursday for your afternoon.
This is a draft page I did for "Lucy & Ron: The Comic" #23. This was back when Ron Placone (www.ronplacone.com) and I were just getting our legs under us, way back in the distant year of 2019.
Personally, I like to work off quick and dirty sketches like this, having the room to play and try different things out with faces, poses and layout helps the final art turn out that much better.

The month has come and gone and with that, I have sketched quite a lot. It feels good to get back in the saddle again and put my time and energy into something I'm passionate about, art. Some of my favorite pieces from the month are posted here. Some of these will make their way
This is a reminder that you should let go of all that you are feeling in the moment. Let the winds of change carry you to where you need to be, not where you want to go.
Art is a practice, an expression and a meditation. Art doesn't always have to make sense or have structure, but it should pour forth from the artist no matter the measure.

Shortly after finishing this, my charcoal clutch broke about a minute after I put it down on the table. It shot parts clear across the room. Guess I gotta go get a new one.

This is the first full digital painting I've done in some time. It really inspired me to push my knowledge of how to execute a painting inside of Photoshop in addition to more traditional painting techniques. I'm still not sure how the idea came about, probably some mashup of thoughts fusing different shapes together. In
