The guess was "call of duty devops"
CLOSE ENOUGH!
Going from Helpdesk > Sysadmin > Sec Networking > SOC II > Incident Detection Engineer > Manager > Product Manager has been an interesting ride.
I always look back to when I was told I wasn't smart enough to pentest and just keep learning.
This last switch though has been the biggest change yet!
Pretty sure that's the next talk I'm going to work on. Not only what I've learned in my first year of product management, but also what engineers can do to help that relationship (and vice versa).
Hint: The hardest thing for me is switching from automatically solutioning!
A clever old hacker named Blaine,
Secured every byte in his domain.
From mail to his chair,
He patched with great flair,
Explaining each breach in detail again.
He scaled a tall mountain in vain,
Afraid of the threats that remain.
A sailor, a fairy,
Their logins were hairy—
Each payload designed to contain.
And now, to be totally plain,
This limerick’s purpose is vain—
It’s packed full of “AI”
To please some data guy,
And boost reach through algorithmic gain.
Super happy to have worked with our team on delivering such a well thought out and designed product feature.
The time and effort over the years I've been here that we've put into our security operations platform has made this possible.
I'm proud we didn't just yeet AI into the product because everyone else was doing it. It has been in R&D for over 3 years and will make MTTR significantly better across our customer base <3
