Final image. I got to metal1 and in some places to poly.

While overall planarity is not that great, the ROM area came out almost as best as it could be, considering the location. I took several more small steps, and it should be possible to make a composite image with all the bits.

The second exhibit of today is also an LS14, but manufactured by Signetics. The die features a characteristic star-shaped mark on the metal layer, along with product number 1807A.

Many thanks to @root42 for supplying the sample!

Hello! It is a Friday, so it is #nakeddiefriday time again. Though with the massive influx of deprocessing images in the past week I was tempted to skip this one. ;-)

It is going to be a double one today; the first guest of this day is one M74LS14, made by Mitsubishi. It is a very classic hex inverter chip in low-power Schottky. The image may or may not be upside down. :-) Text identifying the die as LS14 is also present.

Many thanks to @root42 for supplying the sample!

Scriptures.

Processing is finished on the next step. Hit the metal over the logic blob almost perfectly.

For the fans of regular structures among us.

And now we are at about metal-3, with some metal-4 remains visible. Not sure what that contamination spot is about. :D But it certainly affected the planarity nearby.

I am most intrigued by this set of cells not connected to anything else. Same cells found in groups elsewhere. Does anyone have an idea why is this here?

Die ID is now gone too. Always amusing how things just vanish without a trace.

The rest of metal-5 is gone from the centre, and a lot of metal-4 is now missing on the sides.
