@caseyliss Hi Casey, in a recent ATP you briefly mentioned Apple asking if you had rights for Hunt for Red October for the app icon. Along those lines, I see a bunch of different movies in your App Store screenshots.
Iām about to launch an audio player tailored for audiobooks. Iām wondering if Iām supposed to seek individual permissions to use legit audiobooks in my screenshots, such as the attached. I know youāre not a copyright lawyer, but, do you have any insight you can share?
My girlfriend has been dealing with some MS Office licensing issues on her work computer for the last month.
I have never seen anyone work so hard to get into Office š (Sheās in now!)
@marcoarment Hello sir! Iām working on my first iOS app, which is an audiobook player. Iām wondering if I could pick your brain quick on something. Iām having an issue where the app doesnāt respond right to car Bluetooth play/pause controls. Itāll get paused (either by the app, or the car controls), and then start playing again by itself.
Overcast, and Apple Music, donāt have this problem. I was wondering if youāre doing anything special to handle this, or if Iām maybe not using the right APIs?

After 2 weeks of consistent effort, I finally squashed a pesky bug in Oughtyo that caused audio to pause automatically once it had resumed after an interruption like a notification. (Play audio -> receive notification with Announce Notifications turned on -> audio pauses while notification is read -> audio resumes when notification is done -> audio pauses itself again)
It was hard to track down but I think Iāve finally got it! (It was a resource constraint more prevalent on the āeā devices)
Apple announced it will celebrate its 50th anniversary over the next few weeks, āreflecting on the companyās history and valuesā.
Interestingly, Tim Cook doesnāt mention values in the letter he posted. When I search the page for āvaluesā, I find in small type at the bottom Appleās values, which list āInclusion and diversityā and āRacial equity and justiceā.
Might be a good time for Cook to reflect on who heās associating with, supporting, and empowering.

I just posted what I think may be the final TestFlight build of Oughtyo, my audiobook player app for iOS. Iām extremely proud of what Iāve accomplished since I began working on it last summer. I hope to have it on the App Store soon - a dream Iāve had since the App Store first launched. Iām so excited!

More interestingly, Iāve done this app ENTIRELY through vibe-coding with Cursor. 0 lines of code were written by me. But, I spent a lot of time making it to ensure it adhered to good iOS design principles and usability. If youāre interested, Iād love to talk further on this via email!
