@Matti_Vuori @laurilavanti en kyllÀ itse ihan niin pienellÀ luottamuksella Yleen vielÀ ole matkassa, ettÀ ensimmÀisenÀ olettaisin suoraan henkilön sanomina kommentteina esitetyn olevankin tekoÀlyllÀ generoitua, toki JÀrvisen luulisi tuosta ÀlÀhtÀvÀn jos osoittautuisi ettÀ nÀin todella on.

But to make a larger point, it's nice to see @Flipboard continue to put so much effort into the fediverse.

Just recently they released https://flipboard.com/directory after already helping many major and smaller publishers join the fediverse.

Maybe that's not your thing! I am grateful for their work, so that those who want to follow news can do so right here, instead of having to choose between the fediverse and other platforms.

"Moscow Criterion" - eli Moskovan luotettava tuho.

Yet another #Artemis II article (from a French press agency, no less) ignoring that propulsion, power, & life support to the Orion capsule are provided by ESA’s European Service Module.

Built in Bremen by Airbus, with parts from all over Europe, e.g. solar wings made in Leiden.

Also no mention of the fact that the ESM’s for the Moon-landing Artemis IV & V missions are to be supplied as part of ESA’s contribution to the Lunar Gateway.

Which NASA cancelled last week.

Gentoo now offers an experimental Hurd port, letting users boot the distro without Linux. ⚙ The team claims full Linux discontinuation by year’s end, but the feasibility remains highly uncertain. 🐧

Must Be April Fools' Day. Gentoo Says It's Moving to Hurd - FOSS Force

Gentoo has a Hurd port you can boot today, plus a promise to ditch Linux by year’s end. We’re guessing only one of those things is real.

It's amazing to see #Mastodon and the #Fediverse recommended more but in turn Bluesky is also named as a "good alternative"

I would like to argue it's not;

If the company behind Bsky decides to stop and shut down their services, your self-hosted PDS can't do anything anymore without all infrastructure needed

Ofc one could self-host this but this is a true nightmare and far from a good solution

So yeah, I feel moving to Bluesky is just moving the problem, it's not a solution

French President Macron offers blunt advice publicly to US President Trump: “You have to be serious. When you want to be serious, you don't say the opposite every day of what you said the day before. And perhaps you shouldn't talk every day.” https://www.france24.com/en/macron-says-unrealistic-open-hormuz-strait-force-urges-trump-be-serious
Macron says 'unrealistic' to open Hormuz Strait by force, urges Trump to 'be serious'

French President Emmanuel Macron on Thursday said it would be unrealistic to launch a military operation to force open the Strait of Hormuz after US President Donald Trump challenged allies to work towards reopening it. In unusually strong criticism, Macron accused Trump of constantly contradicting himself on the Iran war and of undermining faith in the NATO military alliance.

@HennaVirkkunen as far as I understood what this is really more about is replacing the passport stamping system with a modern version and being able to control visa overstays for people visiting. I think that framing would have gone over much better than this "security" thing.
