Decades ago, I’d read books like “Soul of a New Machine” and “Showstopper!” as romances, about late nights and impossible tasks and the ability to will something into existence using just brains and caffeine.
It took me far too long to recognize that they were actually warnings.
@MaryAustinBooks I just assume driving one (especially one that’s never seen a day’s work) is probable cause for a breathalyzer.

@Oggie @nina_kali_nina I’d very much like to hang out in the office you describe. I’ve wanted an old school TTY for similar reasons, but the old western union one I found was way too heavy to sneak out.
