Nurse in training, master degree in classics, collecting old photos, immigrant in Germany, born in Moscow
What else was I busy with? I started practicing aikido (I've already had 4 classes yay!) and asked Claude AI to help me understand some sentences from Foucault's The Birth of the Clinic (cheating?)
I didn't feel like posting much. I had a few nice hikes though. Finally managed to go to Laacher See and tried ice cream from the ice cream machine in Merten.
P. S. I don't like the new design of maps to share on Strava.

Yet another hike on the Natursteig Sieg trail — yesterday. I saw a huge hare (at first I thought it was a baby deer) and a red kite.

A little part of the Way of St James. It was my little dream and I am so happy I did it.

Yesterday I finished this very special book by Wendy Mitchell. Strangely enough I heard about it in an interview of a death doula — on the popular among Russians YouTube channel Tell Gordeeva.
This book brought me to tears so many times. Already in my first days of practice at the hospital I've met a lot of people who live with dementia and I wanted to learn more about it before we start to explore this topic at school.

I really try to take care of my material belongings, fix them, and use them as long as possible (I even follow a channel on are.na called "Move slowly and fix things") — so I've been waiting for my sandals to be repaired since November and my sneakers were ruined in the local repair service (I paid 40 euros for this)

A fragile balance between staying hopeful and idealistic and being practical and not letting other people screw you

I don't go to nursing school these days — we have a vacation. A few days ago I finished this great book How We Die by Sherwin B. Nuland (the book cover screams it was published in 1997, sorry for that) (fun fact: I found out that his daughter Victoria is exactly the same Victoria Nuland who is hated so much by Russian propaganda). Some chapters I read weeping.
