@godpod Bad idea. Look how poorly your non-existence has gone. Imagine if you actually existed.
@tonic @unsaturated @rbreich We could acheive exactly the same outcome with 1/3 to 1/2 of the budget. I have contracted for the DoD and seen up-close how wasteful their spending is. They know Congress will never tell them no so they spend with abandon. Then have "blow the budget" spending sprees at the end of the fiscal year to justify their budget and make sure it never decreases. I am 100% in favor of strong, superior defense. But there is no doubt, to me, that the DoD is wasteful AF
@rbreich I contracted for the DoD for a few years. No matter what, their budgets increase every year even if they don't actually need it. At the end of every year they go on "Blow the budget spending sprees" because if they end the year with money left over, it gets deducted from the next year's budget. So on paper, they NEVER end up spending less than the budget. It is incredibly wasteful.
@godpod Dave's response is pretty awful. His comeback is to call the people booing poor, and I guess implying they are jealous. But one should not forget, Dave is rich. His friends are rich. His "people" are rich people.
Just for laughs.
@rcopelander @Pwnallthethings No argument from me.
@Pwnallthethings It is amazing to me that there is zero discussion about Aleksandr Dugin (I misspelled his name in a different reply) and his role in all of this as well as his role influencing Putin's thinking. Zero discussion that I have seen, which is unfortunate. If you want to understand Putin's actions, read Dugin's work.
@rcopelander @Pwnallthethings Not trusting Putin but also understanding what his true aims are. There is a reason Alexander Dugan was targeted - a reason that appears to have completely escaped western media.
