That whole ordeal also finally got me to get off my ass and work on upgrading the CPU for my backup PC that I used for the weekend.

That Pentium G6400 is...really something. Ended up ordering an i5-10400F to replace it.

And I have an RX 560 on the way for a budget PC that I'm building that I'm either going to give away to a local charity, or to one of my friends who might need a PC.

So now I am a proud owner of both a dead GPU (RX 5700 XT) and a dead motherboard (Gigabyte B550M-DS3H R1.2). What do I do with them?

And the best part about this whole thing was the fact that my Linux install just did not give a single shit that I am on a new motherboard. Booted up and acted like nothing had ever happened.

It just WORKS like it always has.

The only thing that broke during this entire thing was my case fans...which I don't give too much of a shit about, luckily. I'm exhausted and I'm tired.

But most importantly - I'M HAPPY TO HAVE MY PC BACK AGAIN, YAY.

As of typing though, I am back on my PC! Very, very luckily, the computer store I usually shop at for brand new parts JUST SO HAPPENED to have the motherboard I ordered in stock.

Ordered at 4 PM, went to pick up my new motherboard at 6 PM.

Cue 2 hours of me and my roommate absolutely raging and losing our minds over:
- the I/O shield not allowing us to install the motherboard into the case (ended up without one)
- raging at the front panel connectors (ended up just hooking up the buttons)

The way I arrived to this conclusion was that I tried to do a hail-mary approach of trying to Q-Flash it using the debug USB port and a copy of the latest BIOS on a FAT32 drive, as instructed by the manufacturer.

Lo and behold...the motherboard has zero reaction to the Q-Flash.

That answered it.

I went into the nitty-gritty of troubleshooting for my PC. And I mean the nitty gritty.

2 different RAM kits.
3 different GPUs.
2 different power supplies.
Ordered a new CPU (which now apparently I don't need but it's too late to cancel lol oops)

And after all of that, it turned out...the motherboard was the part that cacked it.

I had a turbulent weekend, to say the least. Started the weekend off with my PC dying because I wanted to do the good thing and clean it...only for me to kill the motherboard.

Ended up staying over 30 hours diagnosing my PC, resulting in me completely skipping Saturday as a day, as a whole, because I then proceeded to sleep for 20 hours (new record! previous was 18).

I made an osu!taiko map using the Lazer editor. Just did it to try it out and see how I like it.

I think the map came out pretty okay. Kinda rough but good enough as a proof of concept & little challenge for myself. :)

Some huu lore for all of you. :)
