Here's my pitch

You know how some websites have a little progress bar highlight across the top of the page to show how much of the page you've read?

Imagine a similar tool that shows you how much of the page is in view and how much remains, but persistently visible on every window on your computer, along the right side, integrated into a user interface tool that's wide enough that you can click on it, and not a moving target that disappears sometimes

I call it the "scroll bar"

Trying to decide on a #Volvo web forum site to frequent.

How many billions of devices need to be constantly spied on before Congress will stop federal agencies from buying location data it would otherwise need a warrant for? https://www.eff.org/deeplinks/2023/10/adtech-surveillance-and-government-surveillance-are-often-same-surveillance
Adtech Surveillance and Government Surveillance are Often the Same Surveillance

In the absence of comprehensive federal privacy legislation in the United States, the targeted advertising industry, fueled by personal information harvested from our cell phone applications, has run roughshod over our privacy. Worse, the boundaries between corporate surveillance and government...

Trying to figure out the next chapter of life. Everything is so stressful, so I don't have the mental capacity to get a new job that I badly need. I need minions but #Fiverr scares me for some reason. Certainty wouldn't trust it for insurance claims.

What does it say that I'm more fascinated by Carthage and Picts and Gauls, who took the Romans down a notch?
I think companies will always feel they can and should sell customer information to advertisers.
Rather than prohibiting that, maybe we should weaponize it?
Say, pass a law that the person whose information is being sold is entitled to 50% of the revenue from that sale. That any customer can audit those sales to determine if they received the money, with stiff fines for not paying - even if the amount is trivial.
So it's *legal*, but companies have to set up an entire infrastructure to do it.
I just remembered that Katy Perry's cat is named Kitty Purry.
