"The silence of good people is more dangerous than the oppression & cruelty by the bad"

Trying to do my little part while striving to find hope in a world which feels like a slow motion video I can only helplessly watch as our selfishness & basest emotions get used by the powerful to divide and weaken.

I don't like labels since in today's fast world, they tend to distract from the truth and the whole story...

The #GlobalSumudFlotilla has been intercepted by the Israeli military. Special forces have boarded the boats and abducted the passengers in international waters.

It tells you everything about Israel that they would use military force against people bringing baby formula, medicine and food to starving people.

Contact the Department of Foreign Affairs to demand the Irish government do everything possible to keep the 22 Irish citizens and the hundreds of others safe.

They are heroes.

MSNBC reported today that former FBI Director James Comey "is expected to be indicted in the coming days," in the Eastern District of Virginia. This follows the replacement of acting U.S. attorney Erik Siebert, who refused to indict Comey and New York Attorney General Letitia James. Former Trump personal lawyer Lindsey Halligan, newly sworn in as interim U.S. attorney, may have no such qualms. But according to LawFare Media's Benjamin Wittes and Anna Bower, it might not be as simple as all that. The two explain all the challenges for Halligan, from timing (the key statute of limitations runs out in six days) to the inherent weakness of the case and the thorny issue of what to charge Comey with. "This isn’t normally a problem prosecutors face, as they start with a crime, then figure out whodunnit, rather than starting with a person and only then deciding whathedun."

Oh myyy!

Italy and Spain have announced they are sending their military ships to protect the Global Sumud Flotilla, which is sailing to break Israel's illegal siege on Gaza and end the famine and genocide imposed by Israel.

Canada, UK, France, and Australia — all four of you have recognized Palestine as a state. Please now fulfill your oath and break Israel's illegal siege. End the famine and genocide in Gaza—both enabled by weapons you sold to Israel. Act Now. End This Injustice. Stop This Genocide.

I like Prof. Terence Tao.

But the whole, "I don't usually talk about politics, but now is the time!" bit is so tired.

It's giving "Guys! Before, this only affected you! But now it affects me! Fight for me! Save me!"🤡

Albert Einstein didn't wait for his funding to be cut before speaking for others.

Yes, I've praised some of Einstein's views, and been critical of some of his views. That's not contradictory at all. That's how it's supposed to work.

I'm not saying Einstein never had a bad take.

I'm saying that Einstein recognized that "Science is neutral! It doesn't have politics!"🤡 is silly.

It's 2025, and there are still people that haven't accepted the fact that there is no path out of this mess that doesn't involve:

1) People that aren't Black...

2) Advocating for, and fighting for...

3) People that are Black.

None.

Attached: 1 image As previously mentioned, here's what Einstein had to say about segregation: "There is a separation of white people and colored people in the United States. That separation is not a disease of colored people. It is a disease of white people. I do not intend to be quiet about it." For the last 20 years of his career, Einstein declined almost all public speaking engagements, except those at Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCUs). This photo was taken at Lincoln University, an HBCU.

Finally, the BDS movement, which is a Palestinian-led grassroots movement with overwhelming support in Palestinian society, is asking us to boycott the Israeli economy. I believe that it is our duty, if we want to be in solidarity with Palestinians, to respect this wish.

Unless a company has taken an explicit stance against occupation, and described how it divests from or refuses to collaborate with apartheid, then it must be assumed to collaborate and benefit from the oppression of Palestinians, and must be boycotted.
