Forgot to show the result of yesterday's #bbq!
Even ln though the meat I used for the #brisket was a bit too lean for my tastes, the result came out decent enough. The #PorkKnuckle will be eaten this evening, as I'll be out all day and without time to prepare dinner! #cooking
Just put on the #brisket and #pork knuckle (that's tomorrow's dinner). This week my parents had their wedding anniversary, so today I'm #cooking and this evening me and my partner we'll go having dinner with them.
Close inspection of today's work instrumentation. Getting ready for some #bbq. #catpics
@mcc their User Generated Content policy explicitly considers the case of a client though: https://support.google.com/googleplay/android-developer/answer/9876937
"[...] apps which are specialized browsers or clients to direct users to a UGC platform, must implement [...] UGC moderation", which includes a ToS to accept.
Any luck with a ToS that just tells the user that Tusky has no responsibility for their use of the instance and the content found therein, plus that logging in is an implicit acceptance of the instance's ToS?
User Generated Content - Play Console Help

User-generated content (UGC) is content that users contribute to an app, and which is visible to or accessible by at least a subset of the app's users. Apps that contain or feature UGC, including app

Tusky, the third-party Android client for Mastodon/ActivityPub that I use/contribute to, is currently being blocked from updating by Google. Link to middle of a thread by the lead dev about the problem:

https://chaos.social/@ConnyDuck/109004246710026919

They claim there's no "terms of use", ignoring/not understanding Tusky operates no sites and so cannot have terms of use. It's like banning a web browser for not enforcing terms of use.

EDIT: Please note the date on this post before boosting. The problem is now resolved

Attached: 1 image Here is the rule they say Tusky violates. Yes Tusky shows "User generated content" but I don't have any control over it. There are also no terms of use, why would Tusky have terms of use, it makes no sense.

Cleaned the #PSX up, washed the plastics, dusted off the boards. Still scuffed and marked, but at least no grime. I am considering programming an #attiny micro with the open #PSNee #modchip.
After that, hopefully I'll have some time really to play with the new open SDK for this console.

Filthy #PlayStation from the last #fleamarket . Incredibly, it's without a modchip.

@[email protected] while I do like LineageOS and use it on some secondary devices, I'd stay away from it on my main phone: bootloader must be unlocked, uses userdebug builds and not all builds include vendor/firmware updates (that then require manual updates).

I myself don't love Google, but my cost/benefits evaluation made me decide for a Pixel 6 and a 6a as work and personal phone, given the extended support they get since the 6th gen.

Your mileage may vary :)

@[email protected] depends on the reason for your degoogling.
You do that because you want to stay away from absolutely anything Google? Maybe even for moral reasons?
I don't like Apple (walled garden/repair unfriendly) but they do provide very good support and security experts consider their phones highly.

Do you want to degoogle for privacy/security? Pixel + grapheneos provides a very good value, and Google there is optional, and sandboxed if present. https://grapheneos.org/faq#security-and-privacy

GrapheneOS

Yesterday I bottled and sterilized a new batch of my #fermented #hotsauce , made with a mixture of #hotpeppers and #garlic.

For my taste, it's a bit too hot to be used standalone this time. I will use it mixed with other preparations, like #bbq sauces.
