Weird. In mom's Fedora 43, default Firefox would cause Rakuten Viki to always detect an adblock even when there is none, same with the Fedora Firefox flatpak. It only started working with Flathub's Firefox for some reason.

Hot fix release is completed to make the mobile experience more usable. Take a look at these screenshots!

Fixes:
- Mobile icon now shows your custom avi if you set in linked accounts
- Instances list is actually readable on mobile now
- Linking fediverse accounts is now actually manageable via mobile
- Force redirect users to www.furryfediverse.org when coming in without the www for CDN reasons... was causing issues with logins/registrations

We are finally live with our new update, it has been a long while and still a lot of dust. But check out the new and improved site!

New Features:
- Instances search and filters
- Sign up and write helpful articles for others in the fediverse
- Link your FurryFediverse Account to all your different Fediverse accounts for them to show up in our user directory where you can add tags to your account for easier searching

NOTICE TO INSTANCE ADMINS:
This is a fresh re-write you will need to resubmit your site to be listed by creating an account and following the steps manage your instances. Yes, you can now manage multiple instances from your account!

Furry Fediverse

*Kitty wants to be on lap at all times with no downtime*

*When I'm using my computer I can't have kitty on my lap*

Kitty: "if I can't be on you I'll be under you!!!!"

*Kitty figures out how to use the little improvised cusheon pocket below my work chair as a perfectly safe hammock*

Fun.

Looking at a laptop model for me to purchase that comes with Linux (from 2024, with only 8 GB RAM):

  • costs 2800 BRL / 480 USD in the US
  • costs almost 4000 BRL / 803 USD in Brazil

Probably more worth getting a cheaper 2k BRL model with Windows, putting Linux on it and using it as a thin client...

I might need a laptop so I can stay on my couch while little kitten gets hyperactive playing around me xq

Fuck this nightmare

Whenever it happens it always feels like an insane bad trip from which I cannot escape

On the matter of RDP, cool to see the Remote Desktop thing built into Plasma works so well.

I just allowed the user, enabled the server and I can access mom's laptop through Remmina.

Everything seems to work fine, except the power widget does not show up on the panel.

Rakuten Viki required updating Firefox.

I found a usability issue with the RDP settings page.

I switched mom's laptop from Windows 11 to Fedora KDE 43 (since I had an image around).

It's a 4 GB RAM ASUS laptop. I thought I had bought a laptop with more RAM for her. Windows 11 was actually running okay on it, though being Windows it went to 100% CPU or disk occasionally. The main issue with it is that sometimes WiFi would just randomly die and not come back from suspend, among other things.

The live image was slow and freezing occasionally (presumably because of the installer) but I got none of that after installation.
