In wenigen Tagen müsste der letzte Tanker, der noch vor der Sperrung der Straße von Hormus losgefahren ist, an seinem Ziel ankommen (ja, die fahren so langsam, unter 30km/h). Mal sehen, wie überrascht alle sein werden, wenn die Lieferungen aus dem Golf dann _wirklich_ ausbleiben. Und wie nochmals überrascht alle sein werden darob, wie lang es dauern wird, bis die ersten Tanker, die irgendwann, wenn sie wieder fahren können, tatsächlich wieder wo ankommen. Hab ich erwähnt, wie langsam die fahren?

PS: Good to hear. But I must quibble with the article's title: "Is it worth publishing Open Access?" Can't we agree that it's a good thing to make access to research free of charge, to help more readers gain understanding, no matter how many or how few of those readers go on to cite that research?

The main point of OA is to reduce barriers to the circulation of knowledge, not to boost citations. Boosting citations is a side effect that happens to move some authors who aren't moved by the main point.

It took less than two years for a lot of good developers that could work with a laptop and a few containers or VMs without internet connection to turn into coding zombies that are addicted to centralised "AI" coding agents and getting the shakes when their connection to those services goes down. #SarcasmButOnlyHalf This is frightening to me. Now imagine what this addiction does to normal people that think that "AI" can actually help them in life.
