If this post (and the one on my Twitter) gets over 100 retweets/reposts combined, I’ll release the @DeepDishSwift 2025 dates and early bird tickets tomorrow

BTW, Doing this for James Sherlouk's birthday

Can the community come together for this? 👀 🍕

@buffaloseven I was using Apple Podcasts but as I started listening to more podcasts I switched to Overcast.

The reason for the switch was to be able to save custom speeds per podcast. I usually listen around 2x but I often tweak it based on the speakers.

The audio quality at varying speeds is good, and the normalization of the audio helps when switching podcast because you don’t have to mess with the volume as much.

@david @parrots01 It doesn’t appear that you can. Xcode spins like it does when the device is locked.

After many battles with our HomePods, I finally caved and set my phone to require “Hey #Siri”.

Our HomePods get a lot of use to request random songs for my two year old and it is always frustrating when my phone or watch hijack a request I meant for the HomePod.

What I really want is to be able to set a preferred device so that if both my #iPhone and #HomePod hear a request the HomePod would always pick it up.

@niko you can also access clock through spotlight without unlocking the device. So this issue isn’t limited to when you are running a timer.

My 2 year old son frequently turns on alarms on my phone without me knowing.

@dimsumthinking happy to help!

@dimsumthinking I have had this problem before and the issue was that when distributing the build from Xcode I selected test flight as the export option.

Selecting App Store Connect allowed me to use the build for both internal and external betas.

@aaronschendel @charliemchapman I’ll second this pick. The wallet is super slim and holds up really well, I have had mine for a couple years now.

@jknlsn for new projects I prefer to target the latest OS, so I would target iOS 18 (assuming you wont release until the fall).

The main reason is simplicity. You don’t have to deal with OS version checks, market features as only available on some versions, or testing on multiple OS versions.

I would say that the only time I would consider staying back a version is if I wasn’t going to use any new features introduced with the OS (but that is highly unlikely for a new project)

@ryanlintott that sounds awesome but I’m not sure how the rest of the family would feel about it
